April 22, 2010 - Nano Sensors Group Students Win Prestigious Awards

ECE graduate student Vikram Chaudhery was recognized with the James M. Henderson Fellowship for First Year Graduate Students. The Henderson award was established in 1999 by Mrs. Joan K. Henderson in memory of her husband, who earned his BS degree in Electrical Engineering at UIUC in 1947. The fellowship is awarded based on the nominee's academic achievement as well as leadership activities.

BioE graduate student Erich Lidstone was awarded with the Hazel I. Craig Fellowship from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. The grant provides funds for a summer research assistantship and the opportunity for Erich to present his research at the College of Medicine Research Day in April 2011. In additional, Erich was awarded with a travel grant that will enable him to attend and to present a paper at the Days of Molecular Medicine Conference in Stockholm. Erich's talk is entitled "A method for identifying small molecule aggregators using photonic crystal biosensor microplates."

Congratulations to both Vikram and Erich!
